Accessibility StatementOur commitment to an accessible website

Last reviewed: October 2026

South Shore Industrial wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or voice control. If something gets in your way, tell us and we will fix it or get you the information another way.

What standard do we follow?

Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We test pages against that standard as we build and update the site. We consider the site partially conformant: most content meets the standard, with the known limitations listed below.

What have we done to make the site accessible?

  • Keyboard navigation. Every link, menu, button, FAQ and form works with a keyboard alone, and a "Skip to main content" link comes first on every page.
  • Visible focus. The element you are on always shows a clear focus outline, on both light and dark backgrounds.
  • Color contrast. Text and controls meet AA contrast ratios, and we never use color alone to carry meaning.
  • Alt text. Meaningful images have text descriptions. Decorative images and textures are hidden from screen readers.
  • Labels and instructions. Every form field has a visible label, required fields are marked in text, and error messages are announced.
  • Structure. Each page has one main heading, a logical heading order, landmarks and descriptive link text.
  • Reduced motion respected. If your device asks for reduced motion, scroll animations and the scrolling banner stop. The banner also has a pause button.
  • No auto-playing audio or video. Nothing on the site plays sound on its own.
  • Zoom and reflow. Pages work at 200% zoom and on small screens without sideways scrolling.

What are the known limitations?

  • Service area map. The map uses third-party map tiles from OpenStreetMap and is not fully accessible to screen readers or keyboards. It is hidden from assistive technology, and the same information is available as a linked list of cities on ourservice area page.
  • Form security check. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to stop spam. It is provided by a third party, and we cannot fully control its accessibility. If it blocks you, call (219) 386-1506 or emailinfo@southshoreindustrial.com instead.
  • Linked documents. Documents we send by email, such as drawings or reports, may not always be fully accessible. Ask and we will provide the information in another format.

How do I report an accessibility problem?

Call (219) 386-1506 or email info@southshoreindustrial.com. Tell us the page address, what you were trying to do and the problem you hit. If you use assistive technology, let us know which one. We will get back to you and work on a fix.

Need information from the site right away? Call us and we will give it to you over the phone or by email.
