South Shore Industrial runs every job on a written safety program: a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) before work starts, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, hot work permits, fall protection, PPE and toolbox talks. We are an ISNetworld member contractor and Avetta prequalified, so your contractor-safety team can review our records before we arrive.
Safety programs
What safety programs do SSI crews follow?
Our crews follow the same core programs on every job, planned or emergency. Each one is a practice the crew carries out in the field, not a binder on a shelf. Your site rules and permits apply on top of ours.
JHA on every job
Before work starts, the crew walks the job, lists each step, names the hazards and sets the controls. The JHA is updated when scope or conditions change.
Lockout / tagout
Every energy source is isolated, locked, tagged and verified at zero energy before hands go on the equipment: electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, gravity and stored energy.
Confined space entry
Permit-required spaces get atmospheric testing, ventilation, an attendant and a rescue plan before entry, under your site permit system.
Hot work permits
Welding, cutting and grinding run under a hot work permit, with combustibles cleared or covered, a fire watch posted and extinguishers at hand.
Fall protection
Work at height uses guardrails, anchor points and personal fall arrest systems. Harnesses, lifts, ladders and scaffolds are inspected before use.
PPE
Hard hats, safety glasses, gloves and safety boots on every job, plus task-specific gear such as face shields, respirators or FR clothing where the work calls for it.
Toolbox talks
Short crew meetings at the start of the shift cover the day's hazards, lessons from recent work and any change to the plan.
Training & audits
Ongoing safety training for every team member, with regular internal and third-party safety audits to check the program works in the field.

Does SSI perform a Job Hazard Analysis on every job?
Yes. Every SSI job starts with a written Job Hazard Analysis (JHA). The crew breaks the work into steps, identifies the hazards in each one and sets controls before tools come out. If the scope, weather or plant conditions change, the crew stops and updates the JHA before continuing.
Will your crews follow our site safety rules and permits?
Yes. Our crews complete your site orientation and work under your permit system and plant rules in addition to our own programs. That includes your lockout/tagout procedures, confined space permits and hot work permits. Where your rule is stricter than ours, we follow yours.
How does SSI handle lockout/tagout on customer equipment?
Our crews isolate every energy source, apply personal locks and tags, and verify zero energy before work begins. We coordinate with your operators and maintenance staff so isolation points match your procedures. Nobody removes a lock except the person who placed it.
Do safety programs change on an emergency call-out?
No. A 2 a.m. breakdown gets the same JHA, lockout/tagout and permit process as a planned outage. Rushing a repair is how people get hurt and equipment gets damaged twice. Our crews work fast by being organized, not by skipping steps.
What safety documents can we request before a job?
Contractor-safety teams can request safety documentation, insurance certificates and a W-9. Records are available through ISNetworld and Avetta, or directly from us by email at info@southshoreindustrial.com. Tell us the site and what your vendor process needs, and we will send it to the right person.
